Foodie Friday: Around the Weberverse

For quite a while, a little nagging wordpress update has been staring me down every time I log onto my blog. I’ve been ignoring it, just because, but last night I decided it was time to take the plunge. Well, let’s just say…bad move. My “Tweet This” plugin didn’t jive well with my updated blog and fatal errors flashed across the screen. With everything in my life breaking around me (including my fridge, shower, phone, etc.) I couldn’t deal with what I was seeing so I just shut off the screen and pretended it wasn’t happening. This morning, I decided I should probably see if I broke my blog forever, and luckily, it was actually a pretty simple fix (*scroll to the bottom if you’re having a similar issue). Needless to say, I didn’t have any time to document last night’s meal for Foodie Friday, so I’ll be highlighting some of my favorite Summery recipes from around the internet instead.

Summer Recipes from Around the Weberverse

From Top: Mixed Berry Sherbet , Raspberry, Banana and Rosewater Popsicles, Salmon with Grilled Peach Salsa, Crostini Three Ways, Watermelon Lime Jello Shots, Mango Blueberry Quinoa Salad

Happy Summer Cooking!

* If you updated your wordpress blog, and are getting a fatal error because of any of your plugins, the easiest thing I found to do was to FTP in and just delete the plugin folder. Once the offending plugin is deleted, your site should work and you can probably just download an updated version of the same plugin. If this is a plugin that you don’t want to delete because it’s central to the structure of your blog, check out the wordpress forums for other ideas.

Faux Fur, Poppy Lissiman

I can’t exactly tell what is going on with this faux fur coat. Is the dog attached? Is the dog an accessory? Will the dog come with said coat if I purchase it? Whatever the case, I’m kind of digging Poppy Lissiman’s utilitarian and feminine mixed style. The Australian born designer founded her label in 2009 after being unable to find pieces she wanted to wear in the market. Her fun and feminine clothing has a military and masculine edge and consists of both basic pieces and florals, faux fur, lace and vibrant, gemstone colours. I’m so into her floral patterns mixed with utilitarian army green button down shirts.  For a complete interview with the designer, check out  here.
